It is amazing how fast technology has grown in a short period of time. My parents usually say that, when they were kids, they never thought that people could actually talk to each other from across the world. Although two-way radios were already in use, they never thought something such as the mobile phone could possibly be invented! The fact is, it was. And so the first generation of mobile phones began with a really big "thing". It was huge, heavy and it could only make calls. It was something fantastic in the 1970's.
But technology did not stop progressing. They kept on using their imagination and so the second generation of mobile phones came to life at the end of the 1980's. Then the third generation was deployed in Japan in 2001 and then our beloved fourth generation was invented.
What I want you to realize here is how fast technology has grown in the mobile phone area. In less than 40 years we can not only make the calls we used to in the 70's, but we can do everything from a small device that is not heavier than a small rock, such as an iPhone.
If technology keeps up with this pace, where is this going to lead us? What will be the next step in communication? Are we going to be able to put a micro-chip inside our brains and use our thoughts to call someone or text someone? Can this become a reality?

What's the point?
I had the idea of creating this blog when chatting with one of my friends and thinking about the crisis we are going through, nowadays. It may seem odd to the people who read this, that a sixteen-year-old boy cares for the problems our world is going through, such as the economical crisis, politics, sciences, etc. (I must say that even I consider myself a bit strange for this).
Although it might be awkward, in my opinion these are subjects that the whole world should be concerned about. I talk to a lot of people about some of these topics and I can say that only a small number of them can actually reply to me, making these issues become an actual conversation. I find this extraordinarily strange! The world is not a fairy tail and it will never be such thing. People should be aware of the problematic life they are living.
Don't get me wrong. Not everything is a living hell, but I think our society could work differently in the future if teenagers knew a bit about everything.
